Sarah Wheeler, a junior at St. Henry District High School, has organized a car wash to benefit her mother, who has been battling multiple forms of cancer for the past nine years.
The car wash will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Turfway Park.
The St. Henry District High School Women's Soccer Team, along with members of the student body, will volunteer their time to help raise money for the Wheeler family.
Denise Wheeler was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and has since developed bone cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer and lymphnodic cancer.
The Wheeler children include Sarah, 16, Heather, 15, John, 12, and Meagan, 10. Meagan was only 2 years old when her mother was first diagnosed.
Turfway Park has agreed to allow students to hold the benefit car wash in its parking lot. Local businesses are donating goods and supplies. Food and drinks will also be for sale. All money raised will go to the Wheeler family to help pay medical expenses and other accumulating bills.
The Wheeler Family is having a car wash to raise money the day of their Mom's visitation, the day before her burial. Please help this family if theres anything you can do.
